Movie poster ideas....

Ok so I've been thinking  a lot about Edgar Allen Poe, and how much I use to love scaring myself with his short stories. I also noticed that there aren't many movies about him (aside from the one that's about to come out soon), so in honor of him i thought I'd try a movie poster of The Tell-Tale Heart .
I like this one because of the limited use of color
And this one forces you to question the house, centered imagry

okay so these were my thumbs for my poster but im still not sure they're right for what Iwant:

Pattern

For our pattern project, I figured i could use it for a scarf or something but I ran into the problem of which one to use :

So i ended up printing a fabric from my pattern on spoonflower.com and yeah, hoping to make a scarf oujt of it although I have no idea how :/ - it's a little darker than the template but im chalking that up to the transparancy of the fabric.

T-shirt

For my t shirt design I thought I'd try something for fun: I have a couple of friends in a band, so I tried a design , it's simple but I like it alot.

Project One

So when all is said and done, i think my final for project one isn't too bad. I may want to change it again some time in the future but as of now, it's pretty awesome.

So I did in fact change my project a bit, thus i hope it looks better.

Silly Bands

In conjunction with my character i tried using some simple yet recognizable shapes for my silly bands. hopefully this helps me gain some ideas for the final composition.

Character

So i thought it would be interesting to fuse Red Riding Hood with a science fiction setting like Planet of the Apes. Basically it would be about a young space traveller who encounters a conflict with this canine species from another planet who's sole purpose is to conquer and destroy other planets after exploiting all its resources

My character's name is Arin Rouge. Arin, is an intelligent warrior who has fought for peace between galaxies. After returning from a mission to Glattera, a peaceful plant, she realizes that the Vargs, A destructive society from the planet Vargon who's sole purpose it to conquer and eradicate other beings to become the ultimate beings in the universe, have chosen Earth as their next target. In order to save the planet she knows there is no other choice than to destroy them first.

She is highly trained in various firearms and martial arts and is stubborn when given orders. She is brave, adventurous, committed to proving that she is fully capable of protecting anyone. My target audience would be science fiction enthusiasts (from 13 and older).

My sketch:

so far, this is the first stage of my design, it feels fairly close to my character, so im pretty satisfied with that :

Nick Lepard                Vancouver, BC, Canada

Nick Lepard Is from Canada and Likes working with paint because he believes it to be the last low-tech art form. According to his Artist-a-day entry he likes using color, scale and gesture to express the physicality of his paintings. What caught my attention when I saw Lepard’s work was the expression put forth in his brush strokes. The quality of movement he achieves in his abrupt brushwork really gives of a life like quality. The balance he executes in his use of color is also very effective. By, suggesting the blues and grays around the lighter pinks really creates a sense of warmth within the somber moon of the cooler colors. Lepard’s use of contrast for the subject’s irises also contributes to the suggestion of life as well. I have no idea how he was able to do it so effectively, and in paint no less. I also think my personal apprehension to using paint makes me appreciate his success in the medium even more.
